Good Afternoon All,
I have been changing the clutch on a YamahaFZ1N and cannot get any tension on the cable, I can turn the pull lever with my thumb as there doesn’t seem to be much tension from the pressure plates , any help with why there isn’t much tension?
I have attached a video to show the float on the pull rod

You've missed a bit out. In that position I would expect it to be a small bearing that goes between the pull rod and the outer plate.

Part no. 19 if you've mis-placed it. Obviously I've just chosen a random FZ1N because you didn't specify a year.

I think that rod in the video looks normal and won’t be secure until the clutch cover is in place. That can be tricky and you’ll need to make sure the slots align on it with the teeth on the push lever

My ‘03 R1 has a slightly different layout with the push lever (1 in Nobby’s diagram) the other way up (cable attachment at the bottom) but there’s a dot on the push lever assembly (26) which you have to line up with an arrow on the clutch cover. Probably the same on yours.

There are several YouTube videos on this topic with respect to the R1. Skip to the relevant section.
