I would like to see a remake of this https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067690/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Or even use it as the start of a box set series. It would really suit a modern treatment.

Silent Running
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067756/

The Heroes of Telemark
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059263/

Gorgopotamos
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0258622/

I watched 'Operation Mincemeat' a few months back, that was a pretty good remake of 'The Man Who Never Was' I thought.

Modern remakes are a disgrace.

They'd probably make the Pianists protagonist a fat black tranny to be "politically correct".

Not a movie but I'd like to see Babylon 5 with up to date CGI and slightly less wooden acting.

They should remake Max Max 3 retaining none of the plot or dialogue of the original but with exactly the same title. Then they can just delete the original.

Dunno, I loved the epic scale and layering of the plot. Like the hugely extended babylon 4 time travel mindfuck.

Also probably the most accurate sci-fi spacecraft with regard to the physics of the movement of free-falling bodies. Even the ones with huge fuck-off engines on one end flipped round and did retro-burns to slow down or enter atmosphere. Or rotated about their axis while still travelling at speed to bring main weapons to bear. They even sometimes did some funky things with sound so you'd get engine and blaster noise as the camera panned through a cockpit then silence as it panned out into space.

I'd be pissed off if they do a remake and forget all that in favour of star wars style aeroplane-spaceships.

The CGI for Season 1 (and maybe 2) was rendered on Amigas.

Ha, yeah and in the same vein they should remake 'Escape to Victory' but change the plot so instead of football the prisoners have to beat the Germans at something else, maybe snooker, or ten pin bowling, or darts, or cribbage, or connect 4, or monopoly, or swingball or.....

The Expanse is also has accurate spacecraft physics. Awesome sci-fi show.

Loved it until the Vorlons and the Shadows sodded off.

As stated below, try The Expanse, similar physics and stuff you see in episode 1 makes sense 2 series later, good characters too. I only got as far as series 3 on DVD though as it was streamed somewhere I had no access to after that.

I have a soft spot for the old Kirk Douglas film "Saturn 3." Bit cheesy but the central theme was replacing people with robots, Amazon style, so the plot would be relevant. TBH for it's day it wasn't terrible but it's the sort of overlooked film that wouldn't stir up the purists with a "modern re-imagining."

Also, it seemed to get better with each season. Loved the belter-talk.

I'd like The Dark Tower to be redone without trying to cram 8 long Stephen King books into a single 90 minute film
