Is there something im missing? why does no one reccomend the suzuki bandit 400 as a first bike? they reccommend the honda bros 400 and as far as im aware the bandit is as good, if not better? can someone who knows about the bike fill me in on the full specs? ive been looking all over the place for em. I love the bike, is it good?

It is fairly rare and more complex than the 600 bandit.

The 400 BROS is 33bhp or thereabouts, which the 400 bandit is not.

a 600 bandit would be about the same sort of money and not much more to insure. (and more powerful when the 33bhp limit is up.)

There are upsides and downsides to every bike, and people usually reccomend bikes on here for good reasons.

Hi

Nice enough bikes, but nothing special. They were officially imported for a short while (but imports only had a single disk). They were renowned for a major flat spot in the power delivery.

All the best

MarJay is right, bandits are gorgeous but given the choice I'd go for a 600cc over a 400cc without question.

You are asking the wrong questions there...

You shouldn't be worrying about how fast the bike will go restricted... it will be fast enough.

You should not be asking if you would get pulled for riding the bike unrestricted because you know the answer. Its related to the above.

You could get done for not having your bike restricted, which would be no license and no insurance. Never heard of that happening, or of anyones insurance noticing in a claim that the bike wasn't 33bhp. The police mostly seem to be unaware of the 33bhp stuff, was pulled over by a bike cop on a 33bhp and he thought that a 600cc was the most I was allowed to ride until 21. Not saying it couldn't happen, but never heard of it happening.

33bhp and it'll do about 100-110mph.

General information about the Bandit 400.

I had my bandit 400 restricted, only rode it for about an hour before I sold the pile of shite... it was pretty fast though suprisingly, although it was my first bike so probably just felt fast.. was plenty fast enough though for first bike so would be alright for you I guess.

It'll go faster than an NSR.

It won't top 120 restricted, more like 105 max... it'll only do about 120/125 full power.

well after the negative comments i think i will have to opt for the 600, keep it restricted for a bit. by the way if anyone sees one going cheap tell me! i have a 3k budget, but thats for my intensive course and then the test, not to mention the theory and insurance :s

mate...get the b6...and enjoy it
don't worry about will it beat you mates 125 (no contest by the way)
get some experiance before you even start wanting to do 120 down the moterway.
when you pass your test ,look around for a b6 that you can afford (ask for tips on what to look for)

might want to check insurance quotes BEFORE you buy the bike Thumbs Up

good luck.
