What do you do with old motorcycle helmets?

Someone hears you ride a motorbike and you start getting... "gifts"

Old jackets aren't too bad. My father-in-law got a proper "Grandads of Anarchy" one to go nicely with his Harley but we've both started to accumulate a lot of helmets and obviously not something you can have much faith in.

Any clever ideas of what to do with them or just in the bin?

Re-appropriated 'everyday' items re-purposed to be something that they were never intended to be grinds my gears.

Sometimes it's creative/artistic but more often it looks like s4ite as most people are not considered artsy.

So an auld crash helmet as a plant pot holder.
Ah'm afraid Ah'm out.

Stinkwheel's suggestion is the best.

Your local ambulance or fire folk would most definitely be pleased to receive the gift.

Wifie had one of hers used as a nest by a Robin family once. She left the visor open when it was on the helmet shelf in the garage. Luckily like most bikers she had more than 1 or said Robin family might have been evicted.

I therefore put forward old helmets as birds nests.

A garage is a target, might have a bike, might have expensive tools. Its not good to live in that mindset really, you are at risk owning a garage/car/car radio/alloy wheels...

If they can see your garden hanging baskets, get a bigger fence
