Someone hears you ride a motorbike and you start getting... "gifts" Neutral

Old jackets aren't too bad. My father-in-law got a proper "Grandads of Anarchy" one to go nicely with his Harley but we've both started to accumulate a lot of helmets and obviously not something you can have much faith in.

Any clever ideas of what to do with them or just in the bin?

Sometimes ambulance and fire crews will take them so they can use them for training scenarios.

You could make a lovely hanging basket out of them

Or a lampshade

Re-appropriated 'everyday' items re-purposed to be something that they were never intended to be grinds my gears.

Sometimes it's creative/artistic but more often it looks like s4ite as most people are not considered artsy.

So an auld crash helmet as a plant pot holder.
Ah'm afraid Ah'm out.

Stinkwheel's suggestion is the best.

Your local ambulance or fire folk would most definitely be pleased to receive the gift.

I use dave001's old helmets as a cricketer's box whilst batting.

I said helmets, I need to use 3 and I'm still risking getting my bellend nicked because it's quite proud of the visor.

Wifie had one of hers used as a nest by a Robin family once. She left the visor open when it was on the helmet shelf in the garage. Luckily like most bikers she had more than 1 or said Robin family might have been evicted. Laughing

I therefore put forward old helmets as birds nests. Thumbs Up

Errrr do you ride yours. To your house. Guess what son, they've seen it. They've followed you, you are sussed out. *remove tin foil*

Maybe live in a better area if you panic about someone taking a peek Laughing

I just cut straps on mine and bin them.

To be fair, there's a difference between zooming off and back on to your property and into the garage, versus pretty much having a sign saying "Motorcyclist owns this garage", in terms of how long your bike's visible to all and sundry passing by. I have the luxury of keeping mine in a garage but I'm quite paranoid about this TBH; eg when even I'm washing the bike I have it behind my car on the drive to deter the casual observer!

A garage is a target, might have a bike, might have expensive tools. Its not good to live in that mindset really, you are at risk owning a garage/car/car radio/alloy wheels...

If they can see your garden hanging baskets, get a bigger fence Laughing

Really if you are 'into' Hanging Baskets, then your zimmer frame and/or your mobility scooter may be at risk items too.
