I'm set on a Honda monkey and that feels snug (tried in a show room). Most other 125s feel gigantic and I don't have the control to keep a bike steady when I'm balancing on my tip toes.

I'm a complete beginner so still needing to book a CBT, however do most CBT places have bikes that will be small enough?

It's a laughable issue I know, any advice I appreciate

Doesn't matter that much. You only need to get one foot down when you stop. The rest of the time you have both feet on the pegs.

I'm 6 foot but I've had a bike before I could only get one foot down with and had to do a running jump and a hop to get onto it.

I'm only 5'4 and all 125s (apart from proper enduro ones) feel like kids toys to me.

I always loved that clip. Pretty sure it's a VFR750 with a swanky exhaust that shows off the single sided rear wheel too. Cool But it makes the point. Anyone can ride anything more or less, it's all about the confidence.

OP, I imagine most schools won't have monkey bikes etc. for you to use. But if you're worried about their 125s, just give your local riding school a call, I'm sure they'll let you pop in and have a sit on the bikes to make sure you're going to be happy enough before you book.

I'd have to agree with Nobby, stepping up to an MT07 for the first time felt "big" but going back to my 125 felt like toy town Smile

A Rebel 500 should be okay at 5'2" (although I personally found it slightly cramped.)

Yes and no (?). Yes because most will have scooters - which may (I am stressing the "may" here) make it easier to get one or both feet on the ground. Phone instructors / bike schools and explain your situation. I'd guess some will be more accommodating than others.

No because most won't have a Honda MSX125 (aka a "Grom"), nor a Kawasaki Z125 Pro (or whatever it's called in the UK - basically Kawasaki's "Grom").

However, the scooters are likely to be automatic i.e. lack a clutch and conventional gearbox - so if you did decide to complete your CBT on an automatic scooter, and then bought a Honda MSX125, you would obviously need to get to get to grips with the use of clutch and gears. You could do this on your own, or - theoretically - by purchasing more training from an amenable motorbike instructor. The latter is probably going to be easier.

Do you have any experience on scooters? You could in theory make a start on two wheel transport via the Yamaha D'elight. Get some confidence up on that, then get a Grom. I'm not sure how easy the D'elight is to get feet on the ground, though. It could we be more difficult than the MSX125 because of the running boards, which will push your feet further apart.

I expect the lead that used to be in petrol explains your complete inability to type coherently.

We have a grom, it's used more by 18 year old loons than shorter students.
Plant one foot and be happy about it.
Mrs K can (and has) at 5'4" ride a ktm 790 adv with no issues.

Confidence and balance.

Hey there little buddy, like Stinkwheel said, you'll be fine on a proper sized bike. Your perceived issue is all in your head.

I'll try:

Perhaps. I cannot confirm nor deny that I partake in the recreational inhalation of petroleum vapours.

Studies (that I have not cited nor sourced in my argument), allegedly, show that the recreational inhalation of petroleum vapours inhibits the physical growth of adolescent humans. This inhibition appears to be permanent and there is no known way to facilitate nor accelerate growth post-inhalation. My dear friend, you may have inadvertently chanced upon the reason for your own limited stature.

Unlike your good-self, I do not require a vertical ascension device to operate petroleum pumping apparatus.

Probably went the way of normality here:

OP was a soft cunt who was simply looking for us to re-affirm his own pre-conceived beliefs and when that didn't happen he got butthurt and flounced.
