Or at least moderately reworked, so it seems:

https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/models/heritage/r12-ninet.html

Side profile suggests front forks more rakey rakey, and rear shock more pogo-pogo.

https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/webp/2023/05/BMW-R12-nineT-2.webp

https://www.carscoops.com/wp-content/uploads/webp/2023/05/BMW-R12-nineT-1a-1024x576.webp

It might just be me, but wheelbase looks longer as a result, too.

Not sure the fancy scrambler style side panels off the rear subframe really work looks wise, and there's nothing so significant on the 'completely redesigned integration of that famous boxer engine' that makes me want to go swap mine for one.

Don't know what's going on with the nomenclature either - R12 NineT makes not a lot of sense to me. Why not just keep the R NineT moniker?

As per usual, they'll be targeting the polishers and fiddlers, not the riders:

Quote:

Retro styling and ready for customization.
The iconic boxer engine has been integrated even more seamlessly into this machine. That rich boxer sound emanating from the familiar twin-pipe exhaust is unmistakable. And to complete its retro look, this bike features round dials and a classic headlamp. The R 12 nineT is pure #SoulFuel. Modular design: perfect for customizing. With new Option 719 equipment, you can make your vision a reality.

It's the stand-out feature of the R Nine T market - bikes loaded up with same-old-same-old goodies (seat humps, Rizoma bars, headlight grilles and the likes) that the owner has paid a good few grand on top of the bike purchase price for. Then, 6 years later when they've done 3000 miles, they're up for sale with NEVER RIDDEN IN THE RAIN DRY STORED METICULOUSLY SERVICED.

They literally buy a bike for £13k, spend another £2k on bits, spend another £2k on servicing, do short runs on dry days to the show-off coffee-shop, and then sell the bike for £8k. Makes no sense at all to me.

Oh, just noticed one thing I do like - it appears they've moved the oil sight glass out from directly underneath the near side head. That helps, as checking oil on boxers is a daily experience Thumbs Up

Personally I've never likes BMW's version of the boxer engine. When you are sitting on the bike and look down the offset of the cylyinders is huge. It really upsets my sense of asthetics.
Ugly fugly and a twin. If I wanted a BMW it wout have to be the K1600. 6 cylinders of lovliness. Of course as you say, it'll sell like hotcakes.

If that's what determines your choice of bike you might as well buy pictures of them and hang them on a wall. Personally I've never noticed the cylinder offset and I've clocked up well over 100kmiles on one.

Gary wouldn't get it out if there was any chance of it getting dirty.

Damn straight! I'm Mr "Buy a bike for £13k, spend another £2k on bits, spend another £2k on servicing, do short runs
on dry days to the show-off coffee-shop, and then sell the bike for £8k.
" all day long. I like shiny things more than I like riding.

Unless there was a suitable ditch nearby to embarrass yourself with.

In other news, I should really get my shit together for a meet up.

Honestly, you crash into one ditch and your card is marked forever. Rolling Eyes To be fair, over the 6 years I had the MT09
it had only lost 2k in value from the purchase price despite the minor ditch incident. £7.5k bought brand new and
part-ex'd against the new MT10 for £5.5k, I can suffer £333 a year depreciation, I don't think it's that bad. Only
had it serviced twice during ownership and first service was free anyway, spent more on repairs/tyres than servicing,
the new rad for the MT09 was silly money when I had to have that replaced and a set of Road 5's wasn't cheap
either. And I agree you should get your shit together, funnily enough I had a long overdue whatsapp chit chat with
Fisty this evening thanks to BCF's omnipresent matriarch.

'tis what I did. But then mine has clicked over 10,000 miles now and has been ridden in the rain, so it's officially worthless Laughing
