Just wondering what kind of range i'm looking at for the MOD1 course including the test. What have you ladies and gents been forking out?

My MOD 1 re-test was £150 for the day plus the cost of the test.

EDIT:

Cost of my whole DAS was £750 and included my first attempt (of two) at MOD 1 and I passed MOD 2 first time.

Out with those costs the other thing was CBT which was £150.

What is this MOD1 of which you speak?

Thanks. That tracks with what i'm looking at. The tests themselves aren't expensive, especially the Mod1 at £16 last I checked. There is a training centre near me that charges just £200 for the Mod1. 1 day. 3.5 hrs training then straight to the test. So quite a degree of variation in both cost and level of training.

Seems I pick all the expensive hobbies!

Currently we charge 187.50 per day plus test fee's. Our courses are usually 4 day courses after a CBT.

We do not charge as much as other companies in the area for resits if you fail and the way our courses are structured you have a high chance of passing first time.

Mod1 is out of the way - Mod2 next. Another significant expense.

If I fail (36% chance apparently) and need to retake, do schools generally charge the full Mod2 cost again?

Congrats on the Mod 1, fella.

Don't get too hung up on the failing part of Mod2. If you keep thinking and prepping for failure you'll probably talk yourself into it. I think the young people call this "manifesting".

Just remember, during the 30 minute ride you can rack up 10 minors and, let's be honest, that's a lot of mistakes in 30 minutes.

Just ride safe, remember the training and avoid the "majors".

I hated mod 1, but thoroughly enjoyed mod 2.

Good luck Thumbs Up

^^ this.

Just relax and ride. I was convinced I failed my MOD 2 during the first few minutes of it starting and went the whole way through it cursing myself only to be told I had passed at the end Laughing

Good luck mate!

Thanks both - was pretty easy once I got my balance and revs right on the U-turn in practice. Earned the right to put a foot down whenever I like now!

Re: Mod2 - I'm not one to struggle with confidence (overconfidence perhaps!).

Stats say 1in3 fail at my local test centre - my main concern in that regard is my wallet.... and my wife!

the cost will come down to whatever your school charges for the time your using the bike, plus the test cost itself

if your school was one of those fast track courses then it wont be the full amount again
