A diving bell that leaks?

Umm, diving bells all leak, they have a huge hole in the bottom for the divers to go in and out of, they are also pressurised to a slightly higher level than the outside water so implosion isn't a thing, they can be relatively flimsy. They can't go as deep as titanic in one though and I doubt many billionaires would be prepared to spend a fortnight breathing helium in a tiny decompression chamber after they come back up.

I meant bathysphere but too lazy to type that. Embarassed

I think Doug McLure was the eye candy for girls that Rachel Welsh was for men.
He never got his tits out either.

Name a great film Mz Welsh was in.

I'll wait.

I knew the Titan thing reminded me of something also submarine and awful. Look up the Byford Dolphin in dent. It was a truly horrific accident when some divers were killed when there was a cockup with their decompression chamber. I'll add there are images on the internet purporting to be of the remains of one of the divers. You will look and they probably give some idea if what was left of the people on the Titan.

"The structural integrity of Titan has been brought into question after its creator, Mr Rush, appeared to boast about allegedly cutting corners to design the submersible.

"I'd like to be remembered as an innovator. I think it was General MacArthur said, 'You're remembered for the rules you break'," the 61-year-old said in an old video.

"And you know, I've broken some rules to make this. I think I've broken them with logic and good engineering behind me.

"The carbon fibre and titanium, there's a rule you don't do that - well I did."

He is understood to be talking about the risk of mixing the two materials, which could cause galvanic corrosion due to its different electrochemical properties."

Darwinian Rules remain intact though. Laughing

When the news reported something missing by the Titanic shipwreck, I'd hoped they'd found more drawings of Kate Winslet with her tits out.

Galvanic corrosion refers directly to the electrochemical reaction between two dissimilar metals in the presence of an electrolyte. Carbon isn't a metal...

It's probably got more to do with multiple extreme pressure cycles causing delamination of the carbon fibre material...

Maybe to do with differential expansion and contraction of dissimailar materials under extreme pressures? Whatever, Rush wasn't an idiot and he obviously trusted the sub to go down in it every time. Blinded by his ego?
