Any tips? Bike has not even done 50 miles yet but I figured I'd get a head start on the rust prevention.

The bike will be stored outside for all of its life. So, I expect some rust.
But the more I can stop the better.

I read something from the mighty Tef that bike covers do fuck all to prevent rust as the inside of the cover will collect moisture.

Air conditioned garage that you never, ever open.

Or you could just ride the fucker and not give a shit about it.

Tef bike cover would be a sheet of polythene.

Proper bike covers work like Gortex fabric.

Salt on the roads is what causes.most corrosion.
Water is not so much of a problem. The salt makes water a very good electrolyte.

ACF50 or Scott Oil FS 365

The XCP stuff and Muc-off HCB-1 can be got at Halfords and work as well as the harder to find ACF-50. They smell a lot worse though. Make sure you smear the unswept areas of your fork stanchions. These will pit at the first sight of salty water and will look awful as a result.

Is this a CB125F or CBF125?

I know that some CBF's had some serious issues with corrosion.

On my 2019 CB125F the biggest issue was the totally pathetic, paper thin chinese paint on the swingarm. Unfortunately there also doesn't seem to be a rear hugger available and this paint gets blasted away very quickly by road crud, water gets under the remaining paint and then the swingarm rusts very, very quickly. Shockingly so.

Honda will happily relieve you of £280 if it rots away.

Or take a punt on one from a scrappy, which will also likely be starting to rot.

It's a ballache of a job, but as soon as mine started going I removed the swingarm, stripped the remaining shitty poster paint off, removed any rust with some phosphoric then used a decent zinc phospate primer with black chassis paint over the top. Once this has gone off you can then slop a shit load of ACF50 inside to coat the insides.

For long term protection

ACF50 or Muc Off HC-B1 or XCP Rust Blocker

If you want something 'lite' to use after washes

Bilt Hamber Atom Mac maybe or Muc Off Bike Protectant or Scottloiler FS365

see here

https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/motorcycle-maintenance-and-servicing/best-rust-corrosion-preventer-inhibitor

after a wash I will go over with a solution of atom mac before drying the bike, then lightly go over with Muc Off Bike Protectant

for winter storage I will use a mixture of ACF50, Muc Off HC-B1, or XCP Rust Blocker, its handy to have both spray bottle types and aerosol ones for treating different areas

dont scrimp on the bike cover, needs to be a good one or it will just collect loads of moisture on the inside

Why do they do this? A big rep company like Honda will to risk customer loyalty for a ha'pth of tar. Small bike are mostly bought by impressionable teens.

Through some possibly misplaced loyalty I've ridden mostly Yams since 1981..

Damn straight.
Ironically I've found I ride my CBF super economically lol.
I never did with my bigger bikes... even though if I thrashed my CBF it would prob still do 100mpg.

I don't even miss the extra power either. It was just temptation to ride over the speed limit. Although 90% of the time the traffic is so shite that I am never near the speed limit anyway.

Only 1 week in so far. I've put £10 in and I do not expect to fill up again this month. Mr. Green
