|

Firstly, I dont have any pics sorry
I'm having to adjust the chain every 150-200 miles at the moment. Also can pull the chain away from the back of the rear sprocket enough to see a spec of daylight.
Does that sound like a new chain is needed and maybe sprockets?
Bike = Zontes G1 with 3500 miles on it. ____________________ Daddystu

If you're having to adjust that frequently, Assuming your adjusters aren't slipping, something is wrong with the chain. Either it's shedding rollers, has gone into plastic phase or it's cracking round sideplates because simple wear shouldn't cause that degree of change that quickly. It's telling you it is imminently going to break and should be replaced ASAP.
It's good practice to replace the chain and sprockets together unless you have a good reason not to.
I don't change the sprockets on my enfield until they won't physically turn the chain because you have to remove the clutch, alternator and primary drive case to get to the front one and the rear one is built into the brake drum/rear hub but on my japanese bikes, I'd replace chain and sprockets together, ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. The spec of light wouldn't worry me but the frequency of adjustment would. Ipso facto - it's fucked.
LAs stinkwheel suggests chains and sprockets - cheap and eaxy enough on a 125, only real cheapsters like me would only do the chauin. ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750

also making it too tight will cause this quickly. There a "correct" amount of slack needed. "Refer to owners manual".
the rear sprocket light show is defo proof that you've run out of options. Replace all 3, with NOT the cheapest on ebay.
P.S. my scoot was neglected and the chain was so bright red and tightly locked up I couldnt push the bike, had to angle grind it off for replacement. Sprockets however, were fine...so in that case, it was just neglectful lubrication, and then have it standing for months. ____________________ Gone: Yamaha DT50lc, Suzuki DR500, Suzuki A100, Kawasaki z250ltd, RD350YPVS, Suzuki DR Big, Kawasaki AR125, Kawasaki KMX200, Suzuki GS1000S, Katana 1100, GS550M, Suzuki RGV250
