Hi All. My son has bought a 2020 Hanway BlackCafe 125 about 4 weeks ago. It's been fine for 2 weeks and then all of a sudden it's cutting out when you open the throttle more than 1/2 way. Also it idles rough. I unplugged what I thought was the MAF sensor and this made no different so I am thinking air leak although I can't see any issue on the throttle body, but I have not checked every vacuum hose etc. Sparkplug is fine. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Could well be, it looks like a cafe'd CG clone with EFI to comply with rules and yoofs is well into 'owner improvements'

Mind you, it is 2 years old now and chinese bikes haven't built a rep
for longevity

He really hasn't. He is not technically minded and would have no need or desire to tinker with a working bike he uses for work commuting.

I have an ODB2 reader for cars but am trying to find out what adapter I need for this bike, and where the port is. The check engine light is on all the time now.

A lot of chinese bikes used the Delphi or Delphi cloned ECUs.
on some Delphi systems,
if you turned the ignition on then off then on again and wait
they would flash out the fault codes

worth a try

I gave that a try but it didn't show anything.
Thanks, Matt

I'm now under the impression they use a Mikuni (best known for carbs) ECU
and it uses a common KWP2000protocol at obd 1 level which should be enough to get DTCs from.

CMPO would probably flog you a 16pin OBD to 3 pin adapter

Thanks. Do you know where the ODBC port is?
I also noticed what sounds like a loud fuel pump. A weird thing I've noticed is if you just barley move the throttle it dies. If you give it a rev it's fine.

Hi All.

Just an update in case anyone is interested. I replaced the coil and this resolved the issue. However, the engine management light is still on so I guess I need to get an ODB2/1 adapter cable to reset it.

The ECU may or may not be actually sensing the coil status so
the eml may be indicating something else.
Best to read and note codes, delete, ride bike for a short while and test again to see if any come back.
