Went with a friend to look at a 20 year old BMW R1150RT with 75k on the clock, on Friday. All looked ok, no death rattles, no banging from drivetrain, clutch smooth, warning lights worked etc. We had expected bores and rings akin to a small bloke shagging Katie Price but no obvious slap either, so he bought it for £1,500. Sure its a risk at that mileage, but if he gets a decent few trips away before something expensive kills it, it won't be the end of his world. If it came to it he could probably get much of his money back by selling the plastics, hard luggage etc.
