New to bikes and passed my CBT last week.

I bought a regal Raptor about 3 months ago and the battery went flat. Charged and started it but then had EML. I assumed this was due to the battery being flat. Took it out yesterday and had Battery light too. Have tested battery and 12.6V so a little low but I would have thought OK. When running there is no difference at all

I am assuming that the Stator or regulator is at fault but had the seat off and both side panels and cannot find either to be able to trace the wires back to test it.

Can anyone please let me know exactly where these are and how to access them? There is a unit under the battery holder which had a heat sync type look (as the regulator does) but I can't work out how to get to it at all.

Thanks for any hep you can give.

post a pic of the damn thing not every one knows what a regal rupture is
pic/thousand word sorta thing.

As yer new I'll give a you a clue
First thing to do is
trace the cable emerging from the LH rear case
and find the white plug with 3 yellow wires
Unplug it and test on the cable connector coming from the engine case

There should be very low (=<1 ohm) resistance between
any pair of these 3 terminals

Each terminal should have at least 1 megaohm between it and
the battery negative/engine case/ frame ground.

if you dont get these two states of very low to very high
when testing, this indicates the stator is toast.

I've probably got that exact same charging system on my bike (long story) and basically it's not just a Regal Raptor thing, it will be the same as on Jinluns and a load of other bikes, even early Honda Rebels.

I've never had a charging problem with mine but then I'm using a Honda regulator on my system so it might differ slightly from yours. But basically I've found that charging system to be bulletproof so you should see if the wiring is still connected properly and not corroded somewhere or a ground wire has broke off. Can't think of much that can go wrong with a Raptor charging system. They're actually pretty good. I'd suspect the regulator before anything else, and many different ones can be adapted to work.
