I have a category B bike in my hands and want to export it

Hi people I have a category B triumph in my hands which was given to me by a friend. I live and work in Italy so I drive often from the UK with my van and was planning on putting her in the back of the van and driving across the border but the problem is the border control I have no logbook for it and DVLA won't issue one as it's a cat B write off , so how would I prove she belong to me now. What would be my options would I be best off taking her a part or is there a way.

By British standards maybe, but we're a nation that only runs by ignoring clipboard wankers in high vis vests.

Ie. We're pretty uptight about safety here, a cat B might be able to be sketchily welded and used by a peasant farmer abroad?

I do recall seing a scoot that just had the loop that held the rear plastic mudguard in position bent.
It was easily fixable with no frame or suspension damage
but the Ins co. condemned it as not fit to go back on the road based on a shitty phone pic

In the UK, Cat B means the vehicle can be broken down for parts but not put back on the road. Keeping with that theme, probably the best way to ship it out.

At the other end though one would need paperwork from the DVLA confirming the vehicle is no longer registered in the UK and some proof you've owned it for over a year. Assuming you can put it all back together safely, add the local version of an MoT and you're good to go! (Allow at least 6 months for the pen pushers to do their thing.) AFAIK the Cat B nature of the vehicle in the UK should be "lost in translation" so to speak.

Ive seen bikes for sale that are insurance writeoff where it is plain as day the forks have moved in the tripleclamps and that putting the wheel against a wall and pulling on the handlebars for all of 2 seconds will sort it out.
