hey guys new too the forum and hoping someone can help me before i burn my bike i recently had too change the rear caliper on my isca as the old 1 was fubar i bled the brake as usual and got the air out but still can't get any pressure to the brake so i spoke to a garage and the told me its a joint brake system on these bike and as well as bleeding the caliper i need to bleed something else can somebody point me in the right direction because the garage reckons it will cost around £150 to sort which seems a bit high to me

You need to bleed the pipe that goes from the rear calliper to thefront calliper as well. I'd suggest doing the bleeding the rear calliper but pumping the front so no air gets into the front calliper..

cheers pal i'll have a look in a bit is there a way of getting rid of the cbs system i was looking online last night and it looks like loads of people have had problems with it

TBH I think linked brakes are the height of stupidity on a bike. I want to choose exactly how much I'm using each brake independantly depending on the surface I'm traversing.

i agree pal its totally unecessary on small bikes at least i just had a look and it looks like the system can be removed and the bolt holes blanked off so i'll give it a go and let you know how it went

I can only think of maybe one time CBS helped and that's stamping on the back brake in the rain before I knew better to go with 50/50. IMO CBS is at best a crutch for beginners and at worst dangerous, depending on the conditions.
