Will it run for longer if connected to another battery?

Have to go out but in short:

Be careful not ride off with the side stand down and look into
getting a new switch or fixing the wiring fault

Do you know if this is meant to be loose and not connected ?

Thats how it's supposed to be, it's to alter the resonant frequency of the intake so that air flows into the engine better.

I’m honestly stuck for ideas. The bike starts up but cuts out after a minute and then won’t start back up. When it’s idling it goes up to 3k then sits at about 1300 before cutting out

So we've gone from coil to side stand switch to battery thus far
while ignoring advice and fault codes and continually trying to start
it presumably in the hope it will miraculously heal itself

Well it’s not gonna be the kickstand if I can start it and it’s sending spark to the coil. The error no longer appears on the dash hence why I’m not bothering with it anymore. I’m waiting till I go back to work to buy a multimeter as we sell them in there so I can continue to test it

In this rare moment of calm just after taking me tablets I'll add that
when something works, doen't work, then works again,
that's what we call an 'Intermittent fault'

Intermittent faults can be tricky, to a complete arseache to pin down and the worst thing to do is make assumptions at this stage so regarding any component part to be good or bad is foolish.
hence 'Test dont Guess'

Nobody can say for sure what the fault is especially at a distance but faulty/intermittent side stand switches are not an uncommon problem on bikes so it has be regarded as a possibility until proven otherwise.

Funnily enough I have just tried my bike in the hopes it would heal itself and what would you know it’s running perfect starts instantly and shifts through al gears fine honestly stumped at what could’ve been the issue here. Just took it for a quick 10 min blast and it’s all working again

Since we appear to be heading this way:

Have your tried Prayer?

Have you lit a candle in the Chapel?

Did you hang some garlic over the thresholds of your door?

Do you believe in Peter Pan. (You only have to really, really believe and you can fly.)

Or, follow the sound advice above.

Or invest in a cheap part and replace with new or working used. That can help eliminate intermittent faults.

Someone stick t' kettle on?

It blew a 1-1/2" thick branch off of a tree outside my garden into my garden. It was promptly launched over the fence back into common land.
I was concerned about the fance I put up last year.

It got too dark to continue work so I shut down Operations when I could no longer see the screws. I only put half the required screws in. It was still holding this morning.
We had 50MPH gusts where I live. North East of Sunny Glezga.
Tons of rain though.

I did fancy a wee venture out to Machrihanish on the Campbeltown Peninsula to shoot a few rolls of digital images of the Atlantic ocean and put the drone up if the wind allowed, (theres a wee window between the Isles there.) but it was all calm this morning. Where I was aiming for is just outside the Flight Restricted Zone for the airport. For anyone in-the-know.
So disappoint. Crying or Very sad

Not a very reliable method of diagnosis and repair. Confused
You might consider a more deliberate course of action. Several members here have given you gems that you have apparently tossed aside. Maybe it's time for you to reassess your situation.
