Tom Scott and sort of how our perception of the www evolves. (Or should)
How many people still have a floppy disk read/write capability?
Or even a CD/DVD read/writer?
New cars don't even have CD players as they use WiFi or Bluetooth.
In 50 years time we probably won't have the WiFi and Bluetooth systems employed today.
AI is creating its own space too. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |

I still mess with 3", 3.5" and 5.25" discs, vhs's and cassette tapes etc. Pretty normal for me. Until a few years ago I still used to regularly put my timer on my vhs recorder for when I was out the house.
And I think not having DVD drives in a computer is crazy.
About 6 years ago I went to some class that gave out audio CD's. And the amount of people who came back the next week saying they had to go into the car to play the CD made me realise that apparently no one has even a basic home stereo anymore!?
I do hate what the Internet has become though. I preferred it when you had to go to the Library or University to access it. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

The internet became exactly what it was destined to become. A cesspit of information harvesting by entities one has minimal control over.
Government interventions have only successfully made it possible for bad actors to bamboozle.
DPA 2018 proves that.
The law is there for companies to use, the common person (male/female) can do one.
Floppy discs and DVD are made obsolete due to the way they handle data. Very slow and low capacity.
I have a 'portable hard drive of 1tb that I've had for about 4 years. Access to the information on that is almost instantaneous. Floppy disc and optical media is nowhere near as competent.
That's the only reason that I upgrade.
I have two external dvd read/write drives for watching my old black & white data.
I seldom use the dvd/cd drive now. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |

Would you say a black and white TV is obsolete? I still watch mine occasionally, and it's performing the same function as it always did. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11
