Does Europe has 6 years to prepare for war with Putin or he is our friend?

Quote:
Dr. Christian Molling is a deputy director of The German Council on Foreign Relations's Research Institute and the head of its Center for Security and Defense and an expert on German and European foreign and security policy and defense industry.

He is also a co-author of a recent report called "Preventing the Next War" which has received an unprecedented amount of attention across Europe and which calls on Germany and NATO to urgently prepare for a potential large-scale war with Russia that might happen in the next six to ten years.

More bullshit the government and media is peddling to restock our arms industry and line their pockets.

War keeps people in jobs I suppose. Imagine what humanity could have achieved with all those wasted resources if we just learned to get along.

Putin literally said many times Russia is in war with NATO and Ukraine. And there is a war in Ukraine literally going on now.

Nothing to do with media and our governments innit?

The related issues of hunger, poverty and disease while not eradicated wouldve been only minor obstacles. A combined global space effort would've been/would be immense. Obviously, scientific progress works best when collaborative so that'd be the environment sorted. That tribal nature of ours though always holds up our progression. These weird brains are seemingly outpacing natural evolution. Always noticed how stupid people seem far happier Smile

The matrix has you Smile If Russia were at war with NATO and you were still alive, you would not be posting polls on a motorcycle forum on the internet Wink

Russia is also struggling with a small corner of Ukraine. Could it really win a conventional war against the combined West? This rubbish that gets spread by the media (effectively it would seem) is just meant to scaremonger and give reason to waste more of our taxes on 'defence'.

I recon he's a rabid National Socialist. Note how he always says Germany rather than the EU. He can visualise the Panzers finally motoring into Moscow and celebrating the emergence of the 4th Reich with the other Europeans finally under the heel of the Wehrmacht.

Quite the opposite, the World's moved on but people have not. For modern, Western countries we're hitting a crisis point where there are fewer and fewer jobs for sub-120 IQs. People are being left behind Sad

Considering how even a hotel night porter is expected to master various computer systems as part of the role, an issue a friend of mine - lovely bloke and all - is facing. For context, he was going to get a HGV licence but failed the maths aspects.

People won't change though as there's no evolutionary pressure to do so.

To rephrase then, what our brains are capable of at the higher level is exceeding our animalistic societal impulses.

Yes, there is a worrying trend towards shutting those with lower IQ out of the workplace. I've lost a number of colleagues over the years who would fall into that category. The best no-nonsense/low maintenance workers too. In a peculiar way the workplace will be going full circle as we move towards full automation. Then even 120 IQs will be out of the job. 140s and above only need apply!

Send the rest off to fight this imaginary Russian war Wink - or engineer another pandemic. Societal engineering at its finest.

Most modern armies donn't rely on cannon fodder, they rely on guile and intelligence.

And that's why the army bosses don't want your typical thug off the street from conscription. Compared to WW1 when it was point, shoot, stab. It's pretty much the same as most industries nowadays don't rely on brawn, brains are more important. Certainly any industries in the UK.

Increasingly they'll be relying on drone operators it seems.

Unemployment is currently at quite a low level. The average IQ is, and always will be, 100.

I never said we were at the crisis point only we were heading for it. Consider: if* AI drones deliver our parcels & food and self-driving cars are our taxis that's the majority of unskilled labour automated away.

And while by definition average IQ will always be 100 the definition of "unemployed" has shifted quite a bit over the years Wink

*more likely "when" in a decade or so

if driving is so easy that its not classed as a skill why do people spend hundreds of pounds on lessons and passing tests?

Well, I'd say the main goal is to teach people the rules, so we have at least a minimal standard of safety on the roads.

Light van courier = unskilled labour. HGV driver = skilled. What jobs are below illegal slave labour Deliveroo rider if you're counting that as "skilled" ?

Could not agree more:

Quote:
Garvan Walshe: If Trump wins, European NATO must prepare to defend against Russia on its own

European NATO needs to develop contingency plans to defend against Russia with little or American involvement

a debate needs to be had about nuclear rearmament, and the extension of the Anglo-French nuclear umbrella to frontline states.

Big whoop.

I thought the whole point of the Ukrainian money laundering scheme conflict was to defang the Russian military. If Putin has to go cap in hand to the Iranians and Norks just taking on the most corrupt and militarily lack-lustre country in Europe then I'd call that a job well done.

The IMF just recently more than doubled their estimate of Russias growth in the short term - upto 2.6%. While they are more sceptical on the mid-term potential they do seem to be doing just fine. Considering the massive raft of sanctions placed on them thats quite impressive. Now about our economy.... - Rishis recession. If only we'd kept those Ukraine billions and put the UK first!

Trump legacy: Russia limited attack on Baltic states in order to force Europe to stop sending weapons to Ukraine. Russian way to win in Ukraine & try break NATO. Also if US stay neutral in attack on NATO which is most likely under Trump, what is to stop UK or France to do that too? The end of NATO. Putin has nothing to lose in that scenario.
