Mould and Mildew cleaner - what's any good?

Prices from £1 Astonish to £9 Ronseal (Cillit Bang and HG in between) for similar looking products.

All have mixed reviews.. Bath room ceiling windowsill etc.. you know teh score. What works?

Cillit Bang with bleach.
And improving ventilation will help.

Mould needs humidity.
Poor ventilation increases humidity.

Upgrade your bathroom extract fan to a more powerfull one.
Run it when showering and let it run for a few minutes after.
If there's condensation on mirrors, then there's condensation on walls and cetera.

Put some vents through the door. No air in, no air out.
It will pull drier air from the house into the lavy and the fan will push the moist air outside.
Careful if there's an open window near the fan as it can recycle the moist air. Wasting your 50p energy.

We live in the UK, it used to be a tropical rain Forrest. We were left with the rain.

Ventilation is the cure.

I've studied the Coshh sheets.. 80% of formulations are bleach based principally <5% Sodium hypochlorite with a soupçon of NaOH..

.. the exception being Ronseal whih contains some kind of alcohol.

I will proceed with a bleach preparation and finish with some Zinsser BIN cover-up 'paint'. Then keep the window open longer.

Tried the HG stuff, it's pretty good but like you said it's all just bleach anyway.
Worth looking at your extractor fan too if you have one and make sure it's still pulling a good amount of air. I upgraded mine a few years ago and it made a huge difference from the cheap one I had

I did a bit of ground work and am currently using the Wickes Fungicidal Wash and am so far impressed with it. Safe around fabrics as no bleach.

From what I learned is to avoid anything with sodium in it as that absorbs moisture.
