Hi, my bike has recently started to lose power when I accelerate. I twist the throttle and it is either sluggish to get to full speed or it actually slows down and loses power.

I have checked the spark plug and air filter so far both of which look absolutely fine.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Does it do it straight from cold or only after riding for 5 mins?

I looked it up and it's a Chinese made single cylinder SOHC 4 stroke bike with EFI cos Euro and it uses the Delphi system

The first thing I'd want to do is read fault codes
as it may have a faulty sensor and reverted to play safe conditions.

Guesses
Poor temp sensor readings may cause poor fuelling
ditto IAT
A faulty tps may not be sending good signals to the ECU
and so on
hence RTF-FCs!

My guess is inadequate fuel supply. Possibilities: faulty fuel pump or injector (i.e. a physical problem) or, as the esteemed WD Forte suggests, a sensor problem.

Could be the pump/fuel filter or injector couldnt it?
whipping out the injector and turning it over and observing the
spray/dribble may give a clue.

Hiya lads, don't really know how to use this forum so I'm only replying to one of yous but good advice from both WD and Easy i appreciate it.

I've now stripped down the bike a wee bit more, drained the petrol and had a looksy at the fuel filter. Looks fine to me but could be buggered for all I know so I've ordered a new one off Sinnis parts as they are only 6.60.

I'm in the process of acquiring a battery charger coz the battery's went flat and I have been looking at code readers so if yous have any suggestions on the computers that would help a lot.

I'll have a look at the fuel pump and injector but I'm guessing it would be easier to plug it into a computer and get any error codes instead of doing trial and error approach.

Once the the filter arrives and the batterys charged I'll fill it up with some petrol and see if works. I'm kind of praying I've just put the wrong fuel in by accident and not noticed as I'm a brand new rider.

Either way I'll keep yous posted and hopefully I'll be back out on it soon as.

Cheers lads.

Have a look at some prevsious threads on Chinko 125s, as I recall fault codes appear via a number flashes on teh engine management light
when ignition is turned on.

Since you're communicating is a cogent manner I think you will get good answers for the 'local' 125 experts. WD et al Thumbs Up

I've never played with a Delphi ECU system
but aware of its use on many china bikes
but this thread may help you

https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=15675

Dont assume the ECU is some know all supercomputer !
it aint
They don't monitor everything and can give misleading messages
but they ( error codes) are a good start point when looking for clues to a problem on an EFI bike

An ECU wont/cant tell you if an injector isnt spraying properly or blocked
and on your bike it probably doesn't monitor fuel pressure either
so whip it out and see for yourself if you suspect it.
