Hello everyone!! First time around, name’s Michele, nice to meet y’all.

Basically as the title says I’m looking for the correct shift oil seal for the Keeway Superlight 125 from 2005 and online it says it’s a standard 14x28x7 oil seal.

I was wondering if anyone could confirm the theory!

Thanks in advance fellas Very Happy

Can you remove the seal and measure it? When it's out you can also see if you need a single- or double-lipped seal.

Doesn't look like they cost much:

I got a broken finger and I would get a dirty cast in no time if I tried now, but if you guys tell me that it is as straight forward as taking the old seal out, measuring it, seeing if it’s single or double lip and buy one just the same I consider myself satisfied already with the answers!!

By the way thanks for the celerity of the answer man, I thought that people helping each other on the internet were arelic of an ancient time but I’m very glad to know it ain’t the case Middle Finger Middle Finger

lean bike over to right hand side as much as you can (engage a helper if needed), remove gearlever, clean shaft (!!), get a poky thing with a bent end (of flat head screwdriver) and jam it into seal, pull poky thing out, twisting if needed, thereby removing seal.

Lube new seal, push into place carefully making sure you dont shred it. Tap into place (maybe a nice round socket that fits over it all nicely?)
Put gearlever back.

The key thing is that oil seals are very generic items. Outer diameter, inner diameter, thickness, single or double lipped. The only other variable might be quality but they're so cheap there's not really a knock-off market.

If you have trouble fishing out the seal with picks the other trick is a couple of self tapping screws and pull the thing out. It's not like you're gonna reuse it!

expansion on term "clean shaft" =
the splines can shred the new seal when you slide it over. Make sure theres no sharp edges etc as the gearlever clamps to it and quite often theres a poky up ridge or similar.. You can sometimes take some tape, masking or otherwise, and wrap it over the splines so theres some extra protection when you slide the seal over. Use lube, its free. Sort of.

You lean the bike over so that almost all the oil lands up on the other side of the engine. Then you dont lose any when you remove the seal You may dribble petrol out though. Its either petrol dribbling out of the cap somehow, or oil dribbling/running out the gearshaft hole. Make a choice:-) I used to lay my little 50cc on the grass totally on its side.
