Ended up buying. Bell race star flex from the nec . After going out a few times it was feeling a bit tight in the cheeks . I can bite the inside of my cheeks . But I'm hoping they will bed in .

Did a long ride last weekend 4 hours plus and on the way back it was causing me so much pain along the top sides of my head if that makes sense . I had to keep pulling over and take it off.

I've not bought a new lid for years and I'm hoping I haven't pissed 350 quid up the wall . My last hjc was xl but once it wore in it eneded up been too loose . Any tips ? If I grin and bare will it bed in or is it too small ??

with a lot of helmets these days you can buy different sized padding.
may be an option if the helmet doesnt loosen up.

try wearing it indoors for a bit to see if it helps breaking it in.

Try going from a No.4 to a No.3 next time you're at the barbers Wink

There's an auld Scottish saying for when someone utters something unbelievable.

'Away an' bile yer heid.' (Go and boil your head.)

Boiling something can often reduce its size.

I hope that helps. Thumbs Up

Correct. Many helmet manufactures only make two, maybe three 'shell' sizes but offer five sizes due to having different thickness linings. Worth looking into as they're not that expensive. However there could be a fundamental flaw in that you have the wrong shape of helmet for your head.

Heads are essentially round oval, intermediate oval (the most common), and long oval. Get the wrong shaped helmet and whilst you'll easily get the helmet on, you'll never really achieve a comfortable fit.

see if you can get a thinner, lining, have your hair cut

one thing they won't advertise but does happen is the physical manipulation of the eps lining, as in squeeze it a bit to make more room
