Now I've changed I can finally come out with it...

The past 5 and a half years I've been that guy working up and down trains and stations fining people for no tickets... paid so well and the hours weren't too bad but the abuse daily was beginning to get tiresome...

Decided to make the jump to a less abusive role and I now drive the trains, the role flip was insanely different but now I'm happy to admit what I actually do for a job. I also did ride more times this year already than I have in the last 3 years. Its quite eye opening to read my previous posts and see how much of a total mong I was and how I've managed to grow up (a little)

Sprint st, I got bored of bikes and preferred doing them up as projects to pass time, sprint was a project that I don't mind riding, though it's done about 300 miles in almost a year

Long holidays consist of fucking off to Spain, when I retire in about 25 years time I'll be doing that permanently. Spanish driver wages are pants compared to the UK

I found the assessments easy, basic Engineering, Math and English comprehension but I was the only one to pass on the day, more down to low quality applicants than hard questions. Passed the interview, the interviewer walked me to the lift and gave me a start date, told me to expect a confirmation letter in the next 2 days and received a thanks but no thanks instead. Asked for feedback and never got any so don't know what happened.

Interviewer told me the training was fun especially the yard work but everyone hates braking math and equations. Enjoy it and good luck:up:

i was chatting to a train driver a couple of days ago. he was telling me how he misses the tearoom banter from a few years back.
nowadays everyone is afraid of being offensive so they just dont talk any more.
