I live in an apartment complex and have been for 3 years. No problem parking my bike for 2+ years, however recently, management has changed and doesn't allow bikes in the underground car park. I tried contacting them but they refused to talk to me and said they only deal with leaseholders. I sought legal advice as I wasn't about to pay £750/mo for parking local to me. I went abroad for 2-3 months and came back to stickers on my bike saying they would remove my motorcycle within 2 weeks if not removed. I found this note 6 weeks after they put it (I asked the concierge). I tried contacting them through my rental agency and they told me to wait for a reply. In the meantime, they put a sticker on my tank. I immediately told them I would charge them if I was unable to remove it or if there was damage to the paint, as it was vandalism (it is illegal to 1) remove my vehicle from the car park if I do not allow it and 2) to vandalise it) I got this info from a local solicitor. They backed off and now have implemented a new car parking company to deal with this. I am sending off my bike to Turkey within 10 days so nothing can happen, but in the case, i wasn't, would they be able to fine me if i had covers on my bike and no plates? Not that i would do this as i can't be arsed to deal with the headache, but they are just plain annoying.
I'll add that the reason I'm not allowed to have a motorbike in the underground parking is because it's hazardous. Yes, hazardous. The same but smaller engine that powers all 50 cars in the garage, is somehow hazardous. ____________________ '17 GSX-R125, '17 R3, '11 XJ6, '15 MT-07, '19 CBR-650R, '22 S1000RR |
