Big Europe tour coming up (August).
Already got a Trekker Outback 58 but my son seems to have commandeered that for his Tiger 1050 Sport.
He needs one for the tour anyway, so I'll probably let him keep it.
So I need to buy myself a new top box.
Planning on getting another Givi, not bought the Givi mounting plate for it yet (luggage rack hasn't even been delivered yet), but I think I'll go Givi again as opposed to BMW as the BMW top case is double the price and not as big (and probably on backorder anyway!). Plus I'm only having it on the bike probably one or two times a year on a big tour so the rest of the time weekend riding etc. will probably leave it off so not too fussed about it looking out of place (dare I say GS-like, especially the Trekker) on an MXR.
So I'm torn between getting another Trekker Outback 58, or V58 Maxia 5. They both claim 58 litres but the Maxia definitely looks a lot more streamlined and more in keeping with the bike.
After just saying I'm not fussed about the looks - slightly backtracking, I could go so far as to say as get the Maxia painted white (or black?) and if it looked in keeping with the bike, I might leave it on all year round (handy for storing tool kits and puncture repair etc.) in which case (pardon the pun) it's an argument for the Maxia.
Opinions?
Anyone got experience of both cases to compare?
Would the Maxia be more stable at high speeds due to it's more aerodynamic shape?
Despite the equal quoted internal space, does the Trekker have more usable internal space because of it's boxy shape?
