https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c880j1mm2nlo

Judging from the photo in the article probably around here:

Google Maps

50mph road, funny little turning. I'm wondering if the motorbike was flying round the bend and the car pulled out without looking Thinking

Not a good weekend to be out on 2 wheels

There was a similar accident near me involving 2 motorbikes, travelling in opposite directions, resulting is 2 fatalities

https://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/news/crime/police-appeal-after-two-bikers-killed-in-fatal-crash-in-derbyshire-4710985

Very nice stretch of road, loads of fast sweeping bends, can only imagine one of the riders ran wide and collected the other

Fly high and all that jazz

Strange, article says 4 adults and two children. Assuming two on a bike, that's still a full car full of dead. I'd expect the car to have been travelling at speed and be pretty much destroyed for that level of carnage. Motorcycle would have to be at warp 10 ramming speed to do that level of damage.
Pretty horrific.

From the photos ive seen, looks like the car and bike met pretty much head on, and would assume the bikes petrol tank fractured and engulfed the whole car in flames

The photos show a burned out shell of a car with a large bike shaped dent in the front, on what looks like a fairly straight stretch of road (if somewhat undulating)

Very sad, two on a bike, Mum and Dad with two children in the car that burst into flames. If both had been doing the 50mph speed limit it would be a 100mph impact. No point in trying to blame anyone, none of us were there. Sadly there is a 11year old girl now orphaned with her parents and two siblings dyeing in the car.

Somebody must have been on the wrong side of the road. The motorcyclists haven’t been named yet (not until next of kin found and informed) and the photos suggest a head-on at the brow of a hill, a bit like Harry Dunn’s death.

It just takes inches to be on a collision course. We weren't there so no point guessing. The Bike couple have left a 21yr old as an orphan too.

There can't be too many grey Porsche 911's in the local area. Looks like they grabbed a printout from the DVLA and started knocking on doors.

Such a sad story, and the crowdfund for the 11yr old is apparently over £350k now. Normally I detest the way these crowdfund systems work, but on this occasion it's very much a consolation prize however much it ends up at.

The news report mentions a BMW S100 XR... do you think they meant a BMW S1000 XR?
My first reaction was if the bike was only 100cc it was hardly going to be speeding enough to cause all that damage!

To have killed everyone in the car I wonder if the bike went in throughout windscreen there was a similar incident with two in car killed near us many years ago - caused by car pulling out but the biker went over the roof and was Ok.

Don't think I'd be "OK" knowing my bike had turned two people into mush. But I know what you mean.

There was a 21 yera old boy killed last Wednesday not far from me. Hit a Skania lorry. So sad. Where he was killed has just so many flowers. Someone even left a motorbike rim with RIP written on it, nice touch. It is eary riding past the crash site. Sad
