went to go on a ride tonight. turned bike on, everything normal. pressed start button and bike died. no noise, just lost all electrics.
checked fuses, everything ok. then i wiggled the wires coming out of the fuse box and the electrics came back. pressed start button and there was a audible click from the fuse box and everything died again. rinse and repeat.
heres a pic of the fusebox and wires

What is the battery voltage and the voltage with the negative probe on the frame when pressing the start button? In other words is the battery connected to the bike?

3/4 of that makes no sense.

What voltage do you get between the two battery terminals? Should be 12.8V ideally.

Does it start if you use jump leads? Ignore all the people who insist you can't jump a bike from a car, they know nothing.

Touching the fuses area might be a red herring you maybe just wiggled all the wires enough to temporarily make a poor connection.
I'd try tightening battery terminals or better undo them completely and wire brush gently before retightening.
The earth side is always most likely to be dodgy.

You wiggled things and it worked. So something is loose or broken in the area that you wiggled.

Loose is easy to fix. Find anything loose and make it tight.

Worth charging the battery too. The click could be the starter solenoid with a low battery. Usually lots of clicks there though. One click suggests a bad connection.

Ah, but you don't kno why the battery was flat. Had it died or has your charging system failed. You may have just bought a battery for no reason because your old battery may have recovered if charged.

A ghetto way to check it is probably charging, somewhere not too bright have bike idling and rev it gently with something in front of headlight - your hand will do.
The headlight ought to go noticeably brighter coming off idle.
Or rather if it does you know it's charging Ok.

Just fitted a new battery on mine due to dash "Lo' warning and check engine light. Starts lovely - rev'd the nuts out of it on the drive for 10 mins. Commuting tomorrow.

Old battery says fully charged and indicating 12V. Maybe just reached its limit and wont go any higher without some tickling up. Might've been old anyway so wanted to swap it out.
