There isn't a huge difference. Almost identical rolling diameter, a bit wider. As long as clearance isn't too tight round the sides it ought to work ok.
Maybe try a 2.75 x 18 too?
Metzeler do 80/100 tyres, never tried their roadtecs but they are historically a solid brand for small to medium road bike tyres.
