Like an old Honda cb125.

Wee round restrictive valve adjustment ports in the head, obstruction by the frame, and tiny originally square but a bit rounded adjusters.

A PITA, IOW

Is there anything better than cranked pliers for the adjuster?

I thought an adjustable spanner closed down but mine wont fit

Worth getting needle nose mole grips?

Google "motorcycle valve tappet adjusting tool"
They come in various sizes. The one I use on my YBR is from Motion Pro; 8mm socket for the locknut with a knurled 3mm square drive finger adjuster. Works a treat. Way more precise than trying to hold that square adjuster head with pliers while you tighten the locknut, especially when access to the assembly is through a hole barely 35mm diameter.

OK, thanks, I'll look into that, though I'm in Taiwan, so it'd probably have to be ordered from overseas even if it is made here.

Meanwhile I got a miniature adjustable spanner that I'm just about to try.

A tap handle might be found to fit on the adjuster but I think the wee port would probably be too restrictive for it

I found a set of small metric spanners were the best 5 - 10mm

Pretty sure this is smaller than 5mm though I havn't tried to put a vernier caliper on it and perhaps should.

I have a couple of sets of "ignition" spanners, which I suppose were for the wee adjustment nuts on points based distributors, though I dont remember using them for that, and they dont seem to fit either.

The wee adjustable wasn't great but did work after a fashion, certainly a lot better than pliers

Thanks, Looks nifty, though there could be a risk that SYM chose a different size for the clone than on the Honda original, as they did on flywheel sproket, which meant that a Honda compatible forcing tool wouldnt fit.

I'll leave it for now, since the fuelling is not currently looking fixable anyway.
