They'll be more tolerant of heat with them being a high speed bearing, although if your wheel bearings are getting hot, it's probably less than ideal.
Also they're grease lubricated so there's more room for the grease to move about inside the races.
Not a place where you need a very precise location/runout (comparatively speaking) so why not use the higher clearance.
