I know i shouldn't, but i couldn't resist...

Picked up a 2020 Mutt Mastiff 250 single today that was going for a grand. Really good nick, well looked after. Getting a new (to me) 2017 Street Triple RS next week, but want/need a commuter too and the Mutt seemed like a fun commuter.

My original Street Triple needs fixing (not charging when running) and the Bandit is being an awkward bugger and has decided it's going to run on just two cylinders now, thank you very much.

Checked it all out when i picked it up, ran fine, sounded fine, everything doing what it should...but when i got it home i noticed the oil pressure light is flickering intermittently... Sad

I'm hoping it's just an iffy connection rather than anything more serious (bike has only done 8k), but i can't find exactly where the pressure switch is.

I've read that the engine is based on the GN250, but that is a twin as far as i'm aware, and more similar it seems is the Suzuki TU250, if that helps.

Anyone know where the switch itself is, and is it likely to be the switch and/or the connection, or have i just bought myself a whole bag of trouble...?

Cheers!

Firstly, is it actually an oil pressure light or is it an engine management light?

I just looked at an owners manual for one and it didn't show a specific oil pressure light on the dash, just an engine management light which could indicate one of many different faults. You'd need to do a fault code read to find out which.

I'm afraid all my bikes are carburetted so I can't help you with that.

Can't believe it, i'm an idiot. On closer inspection (and this time wearing my glasses) i think it's actually a fuel level warning light, not oil pressure at all. Icons are so small, i thought it was an oil can or something. Doh!

Panic over! As you were! Very Happy
