Motorcycle was hit by black mini van on motorway near my house in 2022. Truck(camera) driver checked if the rider was ok, luckily the rider was ok. The black mini van driver stopped and was investigated by police later. Sorry the news video is in Japanese. Please be careful for these ignorant drivers. I still can't forget this accident when I'm on motorway.

I'm not sure if the road rules are the same in Japan but in the UK, both the mini van driver (for making a dangeous left side overtake at an inappropriate speed) and the truck driver (for not giving-way to traffic on the road he was joining) were driving illegally.

I think truck(carrier car) driver should give way to traffic on the road he was joining in Japan too. He should've slowed down if possible and if he noticed black mini van coming. Carrier car driver might not be able to expect mini van driver drove like that. And it's a heavy vehicle, not easy to drop its speed in short time.
Traffic on the road also should "try" to move to middle or right lane if he finds a merging car from left, but I'm not sure if it's just a common manner or road rule.
(Most of the comment section were criticizing the mini van driver)
-under taking at high speed
-accelerating noticing carrier car from left
-didn't brake and hit motorcyclist

I've checked road rule, priority was on traffic side.
