hi guys. So I bought a 2015 Lifan LF125-j and I want to turn it into a café racer or scrambler but I'm struggling to find anything custom or aftermarket. I want an exhaust and air filters for a start, I know I can get the filters anywhere, but I cant find an after market exhaust anywhere, or anything custom for it. So I was wondering if anyone has bought anything performance wise and as I want to find a new tank if anyone can confirm that its a copy of a 2015 Yamaha ybr 125 as I want to find a café racer style tank and other bits.

TIA.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

OK great
For starters, remove the mudguards they're well gay
get a brown seat or seat cover and some cheap clip ons
and a wee shiny speedo
Oh, and nobbly tyres they're soo feckin cool nobblies is
because the smaller area of rubber touching the road means you'll
have less friction so you'll go faster.
just cut the exhaust off before the silencer for a bike bike sound
and moar powah and you'll have right fanny magnet on yer hands

We can make that bike more excellent.

The YBR125 tank will fit.

Swapping the rear sprocket for a larger one will increase cafe racer acceleration abilities.

The shape of the seat needs optimising as the fairing is completely wrong.

What type of exhaust do you want? To keep things traditional you can shorten the current exhaust and remove the baffles.

The rear shocks need some changes as well to make the bike more cafe racer and less average. You're good with that?

The current tank can be cafe racer styled, what colour scheme would make you happy?

wire spoke wheels
i have found a rounded sub frame that i will weld on
brown seat/grips
taking mudguards off
single speedo
clip on bars
and a side mounted reg/Lplate
and a megaphone silencer. i have already cut the exhaust at the base of the heavy ass stock muffler and put a pitbike one on for now

im just having issues finding the wire spoke wheels does anyone know of anywhere i can get them from ?

oh and a 150cc bigbore kit would i need a bigger carb for it ?

declan my friend, you are throwing lipstick on a pig. If you have that sort of money buy one ready made like

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116554536462?.

At least it's cheap looks ok if you like that sort of thing.

Don't go spending money on it, take the seat fairing off and post some photos so we can see how much of the subframe can be removed.

Big bore kit is a waste of time.

You can improve volume of the megaphone silencer by removing some or all of the packing that's inside it. You only need to drill a couple of rivets that hold the cone end on to the silencer and then you can remove the packing. So it's easy to do yourself and will make the bike even louder.

The speedo is depressing to look at so don't get that, you can buy inexpensive bicycle speedos from Halfords and that's all you need.

The mirrors must be removed as well.

Please be aware that these items while easy to buy will be tricky to fit in a way that doesn't look shit. If you must then buy one piece at a time e.g. teh hoop and seat. If you can get those to fit (and not look shit) proceed to the next bit..
.. bike mods are harder that it loooks, Chinese bikes and bolt-on bits are poor quality - you have been warned.

its not that i just want a cafe racer. I wanna build one. i rebuild my first bike end of last year as i wanted to learn and i thought i would step it up for the next one and try to modify the looks forcing me to fabricate what i need to make it look better. that photo isnt my bike its just the same model. my actual bike looks horrific rust everywhere half the swing arm didnt even have paint plastics were flopping and scratched up to hell so it needed a full repaint but its mechanically sound

im aware of quality issues the sub frame piece i ordered with integrated indicators and break light the LEDs are set way to far in and its a really rough finish but it will need to be painted to match the frame as ive decided with an army kinda look so i will sand the rough parts and fill in the LEDs with clear epoxy or somthing similar but everything has been ordered to measure i will post before and after pics once ive finnished

You seem determined so I'll wish you good luck. No matter what the outcome it will be a learning exercise in many ways.
