Hi all. Just wondered if anyone else has had problem with their CBF600 headlamps not working on main, high and pass/flash not working? All other lamps work fine. The bulbs are ok, fuse is ok, I've even swapped relays around to check. There was a little corrosion which I've cleaned up on the relays/connectors but nothing which would stop those alone to work. I purchased a so called working switch gear from ebay and that didn't work, the horn button still worked as the original did. One little weird thing, when I switch the ignition on earlier, the high beam icon on the dash was on momentarily (I didn't get time to check the actual lamp) then went off. In the small fuse box under the pillion seat I moved the fuse box to expose the wiring, it seems on one of the wires to the headlamp 20a fuse, a black wire has been soldered into one of the wire (red and white I think) I earthed that out just in case but that just blew the main fuse. The bike is a 2009. I feel it may be an earth issue but I'm stumped to know which earth that'd be. All I can see in the Haynes manual wiring diagram is oil pressure switch and neutral switch which are earth's. Just confused how just the main and high beams do not work. I'm guessing the next move would be to test the wiring with a meter which is going be a real pain. Any advice or assistance would be truly appreciated, TYIA.

If the wiring diagram is any good you should be able to start at the battery and work your way forward to the headlamp, checking if there's 12 volts present at each point. Usual any bare metal on the frame can suffice as a ground.

It'll probably be something like:

Battery > ignition switch > handlebar switch cluster > relay
Battery > relay > headlamp

Are all the said operating switches on one handle bar cluster? You haven't somehow pulled a connector for it apart somewhere?
