Need a laptop for the daughter for college and I've got absolutely no clue about them.

All I know is I think it needs to be windows to run office 360 and one note? She's got a chromebook but can't get the Microsoft stuff on it .

They're all much of a muchness these days. Just go down to Currys and find something you like the look of, then head over to Argos and get it £10 cheaper Wink

Make sure not to buy any insurance or extended warranty - waste of money - also skip paying for any extra software e.g. Office, Anti-Virus, and buy anything you need online and direct.

If it's for college, you may be able to get good deals on software for academic use. Worth an ask at the college.

For what it's worth, I like Dell PCs. Never bleeding edge in terms of performance but all the parts were designed to go in them and therefore work properly. Their modular construction makes them easy to repair if you have to. The Dell website also has all the drivers and specs for that particular machine listed and available if you need them, you just enter that machines number on the website.

I use laptops a lot and usually get a Dell Refurb typically three years old and they last me at least three years.

As above much of a muchness but some cheap ones are cheap for a reason.
Make sure it's got at least an i7 cpu, 4gb of ram and at least a 500GB ssd plus 1080p graphics and win11 pre-installed

I'm running win11 on an oldish Dell Precision with an i5 cpu and 8GB of ram but that's probably considered archaic nowadays

CEX do a great 5 year warranty on all their products.

I’d suggest having a look round see what you like then get one from CEX.

Once you've got something, see if the college provide a free Office licence. Otherwise you can get a hefty student discount if she has a .ac.uk email address.
