Kickstart problem

Hi all
straight to the point can anyone tell me what going on with my bike ?
The kick start does a 360..as if im winding it up and there's a loud click as if its just about to catch but does'nt when i wind it it will spin back but wont catch on the kick down...any ideas and i guess it s gonna cost me ..how much? Oh ar i forgot to say it s a ns125r. Crying or Very sad

Sounds like the Kickstart ratchet teeth or the kickgear could be worn or broken. This would mean they wouldn't engage and as such just spinn round !

The click would be the return sprin twisting round and springing back I would assume!

The only way to find out is to dissasemble the kickstart mechanism and check!

This can be done with the clutch in situ! undo the right hand engine cover
then pull the kickstart shaft out of the crankcase, disengaging the return spring outer end from the casing slot, note: the trust washer on the shaft end, which may be stuck to the case!

then dismantle and see if you can see the problem! cant help much more without seeing!
