Hi people,
I have possibly just had the worst day at work that I have ever had in my current job. A customer complaint now means that I have to travel to Glasgow on thursday and work over the weekend.
I keep hearing things like "Oh its not your fault, we aren't blaming you!" and "You should have come to us sooner, but you might need to give up your weekend" etc. I was perfectly aware of the problem and went through the proper channels three times to try and get something done about it, and now I have to show my face north of the border to calm down some very stressed people!
Anyway I digress...
So, after a really bad day at work where I find out that I will probably lose my hard earned weekend because of this fault (which is beyond my control), I discover (after working half an hour longer than most of the people who wrote the software that broke) that some bar steward has keyed my bike!
There are only around thirty people that work at my office, and I know all of them by name. My bike is always parked in a large loading bay type alcove under the first floor of our office that is open to the car park. This alcove is quite deep (maybe three bike lengths) and no one other than people from our office should be in that area. Admittedly there is an office next door with which we share our car park, and sometimes their people hang around outside having a fag or whatever, but I have never seen them in our little loading area.
This leads me to suspect that some person has got such a grudge against me that rather than saying something to my face, has taken a hard metal object and scratched the tank on my bike.
There is a CCTV camera that points at the back door (which is about a metre from where the back end of my bike is) but it is only monitored by a low res screen and isn't recorded. Its basically an entry phone.
This probably means that I will get fobbed off with some excuse about it being the people from next doors office etc, and nothing will get done!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

True, it sounds like a grudge thing. Bikes rarely get keyed for some reason and if it's out of the way no numpty would risk walking in there and doing it.
Just a matter of whittling down the suspects and maybe bluffing them with the cctv thing saying you'll go to the rozzers and let them deal with it if they don't own up and pay for the damage. |

Thats pretty terrible mate. I havent yet had anything like that done to my bike and hope i never do. But a couple of my friends havent been so lucky theyve even had theyre bikes tipped over and of course the culprit gets away with it as most of the time there is no way of proving it was them. I think people with problems should confront you about it rather than damage your motorbike. Hope you find who it was |

A long time ago, in a place far, far away..............
A guy I knew had his bike seat slashed. I became the main culprit.
1) If it was random, then they'd had to get passed my bike in a dark place to get to his. My bike was untouched.
2) We were both after the same girl. The bikes were parked at the back of her flat. It was no secret that I was a little annoyed by his presence.
3) I had gone of for a wander about earlier in the night on my own.
4) I always carried a knife around (that was when it wasn't illegal to do so).
So I was instantly judged guilty (except by those that knew me well). The girl went off with this lad cos I was a piece of shit.
Years later, I found out the truth.
His seat had been slashed elsewhere. He'd known about it when he parked next to me and had not actually accused me, just left all the other shit-stirrers to do their job. He then got the sympathy and the girl.
I won on a couple of points.
1) I found out who my real mates were and who the shit-stirrers were.
2) The girl turned out to be a right old slapper and he ended up with a dose of the clap.
Cheers,
Byrnie. ____________________ NABD Treasurer

That really sucks. Is the loading bay used for anything else, or just for parking the bike? Does anybody other than the office workers know you park it there?
I'm currently thinking of investing in a tank cover for mine. The tank isn't all that pretty and a cover it cheaper than a re-spray. https://www.baglux.co.uk/tankcovers.asp |

Bad news about the bike getting damaged.
One thing I have noticed about these dumb wits that damage other peoples stuff, sooner or later they usually start bragging about it as they feel so pleased about themselves, if it's a close nit type of work place sooner or later a name may appear, then you can nail the sucker |

I am hearing from the people that go out there to smoke, that there are 'rejects' from the language school next door that hang around outside. Since our office loading area is the only place with accessible shelter, they often smoke under there when it rains.
The plot thickens...
