Well I need a new visor for my helmet. I'm thinking about getting a tinted one. I know they are illegal on UK roads, so should I stay away or risk it? Also can I get them from somewhere like Hein gericke or off of a internet site i have already found a couple www.racevisors.co.uk being one.

many thanks adam

Do NOT get a tinted visor if you don't have a clear one to wear at night/in poor visability.

If you do have a clear one as well then get as dark a tint as you want and just make sure that you do always carry your clear one with you to swap if it gets dark.

You won't be able to buy them in the shops because they're not road legal. Most people order from www.thevisorshop.com

As to shoudl you get one or not is really up to you. The police can do you for one, I've never heard of it happening and know people who have been stopped by the police whilst using a tinted visor without problems. As long as you carry your clear one with you and use it with common sense you should be fine.

Definetely don't get a tinted one as your main visor. You will not be able to see at night. I think I was caught out once without my clear visor when nightfall came. I had to ride all the way home with the visor up and just had to take my time.
