The weather was *perfect* here today - sunshine, blue sky, no wind - so I thought it was time I got out on my bike (I've been a bit ill for aaaages so I've not been out for quite a while!)

I decided to go along to Loch Lomond and back as it's not too far and I've not been that way before. On my wee trip I learnt some interesting things:

1. Some car drivers have a tendency to drive like lunatics, especially BMW drivers, and also those with an inclination to overtake up short steep blind hills.... (scary to watch that)

2. The A811 appears to have been resurfaced in places for cars but not bikes - ie. tarmac where a car's tyres would go, but messy bumpy 3-types-of-surface uneven stuff in the middle.

3. I still can't corner very well, as demonstrated by a bike ahead of me doing a *much* better job round a roundabout!

4. The south end of Loch Lomond is a bit tourist-retail-park-like Confused

5. My new Arai helmet is *wonderful*, and was comfy all the time.

6. However my new Arai helmet, like any other helmet, is no good when you have a runny nose..

7. I discovered it is indeed possible to hang off the bike a wee bit when going round corners! (this may seem obvious but it was a big thing for me Laughing )

8. and last... I ache!! All over the place - my thighs, my forearms, my wrists, and in between my shoulderblades. I think my muscles need to get used to long bike trips.

I now need a long hot bath.....

I've done the same today, cleaned the bike and rode for about 100 Miles.

Went down to the A57, A50, A537, B5470 A5004, A53, A537, A54 and A34, A537, A50, A57 and then back home,

Basically a long way to Buxton, my fave road the Cat And Fiddle was shut for a majority hence the long way around, I did find a lovely road I haven't ridden before the A5004, has some decent bends and lovely views!
Also had a close call with a bloody lorry, coming around a hairpin bend on the A54, it was FULLY on my side of the road! Luckily I was only doing about 10MPH so I managed to avoid him, bloody stupid fucking lorry drivers, why the hell do they use narrow country roads to get to places?

oh definitely worth it, I'd just like my muscles to catch up with my brain lol

Craig I've found that whenever I'm going round a tight corner that's *always* when a lorry will come the other way. Always. I swear I go past more round corners than I do on straights!
