 Posted: 13:58 - 12 Oct 2004 Post subject: [FOR SALE] SOLD - Aprilia RS125 - 2000 X-reg (Needs mending) |
 |
|
It is with a heavy heart today that I post this thread. I'm selling the Aprilia RS125, it has become too much for me now.
First off, let me explain a little history about this bike:
I bought the Aprilia in January this year. I had about a month of clear sailing out of here and then things started happening. Since the initial problems I've literally ridden the bike a total of 23 days. That's it.
I've replaced the following parts on the bike since the initial problems:
1> Front brake caliper,
2> Front and back brake pads,
3> Front Sprocket,
4> Speedo, Rev counter, clocks,
5> Race chain*
6> Spark plugs,
7> Clutch plates and gear/engine oil,
8> Rear electrics and rear and front bulbs,
9> Front and back tyres and valves (has 5 miles on them from new)
* As bike has been stored outside, chain will probably need replacing.
Now, the bike still needs the following doing to it:
1> Clutch cable replacing due to it's stretched,
2> Left indicator needs replacing, it broke in my fall,
3> Gear selector replacing,**
4> Underside of fairing tightening and tidying, because bolts fell out.
** The gear selector was bent and had to be bent back into shape when fell off bike. While it is still perfectly functional it should be replaced.
The bike has been locked outside for about 2 months without movement, however it has been sheltered from the rain and wind, it still needs TLC because of this though.
The bike has a full MOT till Sept 2005 (believe it or not...) but is currently un-taxed and classed as off the road. It has done under 1000 km since it's purchase in January, and previous to myself it had an engine re-build a further 5000km before me, which was done by Millenium Motors.
This bike works, however it needs constant maintanence that I cannot attempt to support anymore. The engine runs (although the battery is flat and we needed to run-start it) and the only thing stopping the bike working to a road worth standard is it's need of a new clutch cable.
So.
I want to give this to someone who knows something about bikes. It needs TLC, and as such it's not a good choice first bike. It does work however, and work well (the new tyres were ace, they're grippy as hell ) Oh, and before anyone asks this bike is not restricted.
Here's some photo's of her:
1. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Bike from rear angle.
2. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Front of bike from exhaust side.
3. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Rear of bike from exhaust side.
4. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Yoke and tank.
5. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Side of bike from non-exhaust side.
6. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Head on.
7. Hi-Res / Lo-Res - Tank, yoke and exhaust side (where missing indicator was)
Ok, so a summary. It needs a clutch cable and it'll be road worthy, plus an indicator and a few other bits, however, it's shabby and needs sorting out.
I'd like to see an offer of £500 (which is half the amount of money I've spent putting the thing in garages.) It's not a bad bike, it just needs TLC. PM or mail me if you're interested, otherwise this essay goes to eBay
Thanks

I wouldn't say that, the info is there for all to see.... ____________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." Hunter S Thompson

NOW SOLD.
Someone local to me has organised pick up and a decent deal on it (£750) - It's just down the road and it's a good offer, I can't really ignore it.
Sorry for anyone who was interested, it was too good an offer to pass up for me. Thanks for your support and interest.
