Least we STILL beat them off the lights. Nothing better than the disgruntled sight of a mother doing her school run in her CRV, XR, Range rover etc only to be vanquished by a ickle boy on a humble xr125 at the lights Very Happy

I win most traffic light battles. Fear the 10 year old crappy looking MZ 125!!

The only thing that's come anywhere near me off the line was an RS125. (and a ZX7-R, but we don't talk about that)

Well I love it when Chavey Ped bois pull up beside me on their smashed up NRGs or their DNAs (wanabe bikers... Face it, its a 50cc:wink: )... And they pull up beside me with their back brake on revving their scooters making them look like complete twats. and because of their cheap "race pipe" they think they are the king of the road. And because my scooter looks pretty plain and sensible from the outside they expect me to be slow as fcuk. Wink Little do they know that 125s can just about do me. Very Happy Silly boys!
ALSO a group of scallys and chavs crammed in this nova pulled up beside me and my mate on his RS125 at some lights. Nova go right up our asses so my mate on his RS pressed the Magic button (FLAMER KIT!) and melted all the body kit on the front of the Nova. haha!

Not only is racing on public roads illegal, but it is irresponsible, juvenile and pathetic.......................Nice one. Very Happy Thumbs Up

The first week I had the 400 I had a golf GTi with his mate in the car wanting to race me off the lights after I filtered to the side of them. They were shouting out the window and gesturing for a race and revving the car loads. The gap ahead was only big enough for 1 of us about 10 yards ahead. So I had to just nail it. Ended up doing my first ever wheelie at the same time though. Shocked It must have looked damn good.

I've also drag raced an Impreza down a dual carriage way. From a rolling 30mph start. Thrashed him too! Very Happy

My mates have a history of drag racing their highly inappropriate bikes against cars on 'run wot you brung' days at Crail dragstrip.

Two noteable 'jaw droppers' were Danny on his little air cooled 1978 RD250 being drawn against a kitted-up Nova SR full of Neds wearing burberry baseball caps who wound the window down and started taking the piss of his bike while they were sat at the christmas tree. Middle Finger Eat 2-stroke MoFo Middle Finger Beat them by a full car-length.

Niall was even better, got drawn against a Porche 911 on his BSA A65 (out to 980cc mind), porche pulled away to start with then the beesa started to catch up as he hooked third gear and passed it on the line...a respectable sub 14 second run on a thirty year old motorbike Mr. Green

All though i don't ever....

One occasion somebody in a porshe (boxer i think) decided he would sit reveing away (because all they see is a motorbike, not an old motorbike), thought it would be rude not to, he looked very very annoyed when eventually caught up my circa 1980s tank on wheels dissapeared off after settleing down to the 60 limit..

I did have some fun going from 125-500, mwahahahahaha...

I had ago with a Mercedes SLK the other day, at the lights the young lass just looked me up and down, smiled, winked and then at amber she floored it.

So I went with her, I was really going for it on the comet and did beet her up to 40mph but that was the speed limit so I chickened out after that.

There had been loads of bobbies about, so it wouldn't have been good on L-plates flighting through a built-up area with an SLK in hot pursuit.

The only thing that's beaten me on my XJ900 is Rob on his speed triple, and I was suprisingly close behind him!
On my GP100 nothing's beaten me yet...though I doubt anything'll be bothered to try! Laughing

I really need to do something to get it up to the speed everyone tells me it should do - 80.
I've had 60 on the flat and it takes a while to get there!

Well done though! I'd love to have another NSR, they're wicked fun and suprisingly fast!

I dont tend to race people at the lights unless I know I could win.

I.e. Ped bois on their standard de-rizzed 50cc hoovers I will race, and its more fun because yamahaha Sr 125's are ugly and look slow and ARE slow

When I pass my test however, and upgrade I might become a little more competetive!

my most memorable drag race was against my mate on a 1996 Yamaha YZF 1000 it was a true moment of glory to rip past him from 0-130kmph when his main reason to buy a bigger bike than mine was to be faster and to have the " I got more for my dollar " smirk on his face still he is yet to offer a quick drag to me again since! plus he refuses to come to the ride days and dyno shootouts with me Laughing what has he got to hide?? I thought we all like to be beaten by bikes almost half the engine size Wink I wonder why he is so different Wink oh well I am sure he is having fun either way Very Happy

Ah crail, what fond memories of kicking high powered car ass! I've still to sit my cbt and test but I've a had a few shots on some friends and familys bikes up, best one I can think of was a very nice Evo VII that my uncle raced on his GSX-R600 and spanked the idiot. When it was over the guy got out of his tin box and gave him a mouthfull of abuse saying it was cars only, needless to say he got laughed at all day then got spanked by an RS250 on his next run Thumbs Up Twisted Evil Thumbs Up

Haha, the thing i love about having a 2 stroke 250 is that most think its a 125.
Just had an astra pull up next to be with 4-5 chavs in it thinking they could own me as it was probably a 2 litre one with a few mods.
0- 60 time for an RGV250 is i estimate 4-5 seconds.
Astra laiden with chavs, about 8 Laughing

like...Bu-hye! Laughing

Jeez, do people really take it that seriously that they have to shout at the other person because they got beat?

I don't race. It's the amount of cameras and speed traps around here. It's getting silly. It's fun to watch though. Thumbs Up Last week a chav mobile pulls up at lights and starts revving away, the driver staring at the biker in the right lane. Biker nods. I don't even know what he was riding - it had a huge engine though, one of those engines that gives out a lazy ka-whump-ka-whump whilst idling. Bad choice Mr. Chav. Chav goes, bike goes, bike wins, chav is red in the face with anger as his mates in the back are bouncing up and down laughing at him. Laughing
