Should be in non-bike related, but what the hell...

In a word yes. If you are 18+ you can get a contract, if its your 18th birthday or your nearly dead, makes no difference

with regards to a credit check>

I have had a run in with a debt collection agency for £77 when i was 16 but that shouldn't effect my contract phone purchase should it?

I thought you can only get credit scoring when your 18+ Rolling Eyes

Best way to get an accurate answer to this question would be to ask it to a phone shop who will actually know the answer for sure. Thumbs Up

Would expect once you have a bank account they start a credit rating for you and it would be fair that if you've had problems with debt collections agencies in the past they'll take it into account but don't know for sure how it works.

Ask a phone shop, www.carphonewarehouse.com look at the nearest store to you and then ring them up and ask them.

Doubt it, I'm sure you'll be asked your age when trying to sign up, but no harm in trying.

Noo don't do it. The XDA 2 sucks. I have to support them at work. They're slightly better than the first ones. They seemed a good idea to me at first as I was given one to try out. It sits in my drawer at work now after a couple days of use. I hated it. It's too big and if the battery runs flat you lose everything. So make sure you have it backed up. The MSN feature was kinda cool though.

Hi

Order you credit reports from Experian and from Equifax who are the main UK credit reference agencies.

Note that when you apply for credit they will do a search on you normally, and these searches are logged and reported in future those doing searches on you. In other words applying for credit / phone / TV rental when you are not going to get it will screw up your chances of getting credit in the future. Hopefully your application earlier today will have just been rejected on basic credit scoring without them doing a search.

Credit details are stored for quite a few years, and as such having had a debt collection agency called in is likely to adversly affect your credit rating rating for quite a while. Not sure how this works when you are under 18 when you cannot have credit in your own name.

All the best

Keith
