Thats like racing an F1 car against a Subaru road car.

They want to try it against the Desmosedici!

Or against a Turbo Busa Shocked

In a best of three, it was 2 - 1 to the F1 car over the Fireblade... the bike got the win on the first run cos the F1 had problems with the anti-stall system.

The boat was a dismal last on each run (why did they bother... Rolling Eyes )

EDIT: oh and I entered the competition at the end of the programme to win the Ford Capri Embarassed

They'd both do the same as the blade which was to want to wheelie the whole strip.

Need something with a longer wheelbase.

Would have been better if they had a MotoGP bike.

But then I would say that. Smile

Yeah, the budget difference between F1 and BSB made it a forgone conclusion from the start.

I watched it, but as soon as they showed the BMW 1 series and rated it highly, my brain switched off.

It wasn't a stock bike, it costs £1 million per year to lease from Honda.

The F1 car would have beaten any road or race bike (drag is different Razz ) so theres no use complaining about it.

I think a Desmosedici with extended wheelbase could probably give the F1 car a run for its money. It was quite funny watching Rutter try to keep the front down. Laughing

F1 cars are extreamly quick, a blade will beat practically any standard road car in a drag race but F1 cars are something complety differant.

The car has traction control, and two massive super sticky rear wheels. The only way that a bike could beat it were if it were a darg bike with square profile tires, turbo engine, and extended swingarm.
Similarly you could modify the car to reduce drag from the wings (it wouldnt have to corner)

I'm sure with more money and a dedicated race bike such as a GP bike the bike would be capable of sticking with the car better, but i doubt a bike could win just due to design.

They should've used a Triumph Rocket 3 Very Happy

Got the weight to launch it off the line and the 0-60 time, but not sure what would've happened Question

Now that I would love to see...

Come on guys don't be sore, the F1 car was always going to win and would beat anything on 2 wheels except perhaps a specialised drag bike. I was amazed the bike won the first one, just shows how much they need all that electronic help!

I think a fairer test would have been the Blade vs a top production racing car, you could argue that it would be possible for the man in the street to buy either sort. The boat, what a joke, even with a standing start it was hopeless. Just reminds me how much I hate boats and boating people.

And lets face it we all know that F1 racing is the most boring 'sport' in the world, we've got Moto GP, Superbikes and the rest. Now that's real racing.
