Funnily enough I've heard of somebody else with an SV that's lost the seat cowl while hammering it down a motorway... As for the visor you can get them on manufacturing quality, say you were using it in daylight on a track (like they say you're meant to) and it rained - and show them the damage. I have actually heard of this visor problem before.....
did you wipe the visor quite a few times with your hand on the way home? someone wrote into MCN ages ago complaining of this problem and the reply was that "the frayed edges on a glove can sometimes be sharp or abrasive and damage irridium visors...." (or something to that effect)
Race black visors dont seem to be affected though...
