Sorry...yet another "NSR technical problem" related thread Sad

Right then. Ready for my highly technically written report? Laughing

I was riding around on Saturday, and all seemed fine, except for the gear changes to be less smooth, i.e. when I changed up a gear it sounded like the revs were sticking for a bit. If that makes sense.

Then a bit later on, I was cruising at 30mph, when I felt the engine just loose a bit of power, although I wasn't dropping the revs with my accelerator. When I gave it more revs it took a few seconds to get power back. I guess it felt a bit like it was running out of fuel, not that I've ever experienced that.

A couple of miles later, after I'd noticed the rev dropping stuff, the revs went really high and when I pulled over (in panic!) and put it in neutral, it stayed revving too high, instead of idling like it should do.

Thankfully I was with McJam at the time who calmed me down, and after I restarted it and continued home it seemed ok again.

Anyone know what the hell is wrong with my bike? I wasn't imagining it!! It's a 1992 NSR 125 (FK I think).

Thumbs Up

Maybe an air leak around the carb?

Hi

I would say an air leak as well.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Check the carb is mounted securely to the engine. Check the rubber block it mounts onto for cracks.

All the best

Keith

spray stuff with window cleaner/wd40 or anything really. When the liquid is sucked into the leak the engine note will change. Just helps locate it really
