Hey guys,

I've gotten further with my NSR, I now know it DOES have compression, since I was able to bump it, and rev it!! Woohoo!!

However, once I let the revs drop, bike cut out...

...but then the clutch doesnt seem to work Very Happy It looks like it's connected, it pulls on the lever on the engine, but does nothing. In gear with cluch held in, does shit all. Tried tightening it, still nothing?

That aside, I guess the problem might be the starter motor? When turning it over, even with a fully charged battery it doesn't seem to turn half as fast as it should and doesn't even pop or misfire, guess there's just not enough power... or could the ignition cutoff be stuck on? Is is possable to bump it if it is???

Sorry to throw all this at you guys!!

-Joel

adjust the pilot screw at 2 1/2 turns undoing ; start on choke , let it warm for a while , then put little revs with the handle and take choke off , let it warm for 2 or 3 mn . then adjust the idle screw at 1500 revs . it will be ok . obviously i suppose you put a new sparkplug

Right mate- firstly make sure that the plug is in good nick, then fill up using fresh fuel and make sure you have 2t in the reservoir. Have you cleaned the carb out yet? If yes skip this step...Either remove carb and strip/clean or a quick but less effective way is to get the bike running and rev it up, then put the palm of your hand over the inlet of the carb, hold throttle open and release hand before engine stalls. Rev up again and repeat a few times. This vacuum will hopefully move any crap from the jets and idle circuit.
As for clutch problem i would be inclined to re-check adjustment of cable and make sure it has not snapped. If this fails you may have to operate Shocked . Get a manual and have a look under the clutch case for signs of damage to the mechanism inside. ps check the ht lead to the plug is clean and no sparks are dancing along it as this is the high voltage leaking to earth (damn lazy electricity finding the easiest path). Good luck buddy hope this helps you out. Very Happy
