Can someone with an FZR600 tell me what the tyre pressures are meant to be. I took readings this morning and they are worrying.

(psi)
Front: 14.5
Rear: 21

Those seem low, even though my tyres don't feel soft.

Well Bridgestone recommend (For the FZR600 Genesis) 2.4 Bar and 2.6 Bar in there tyres, which is 35PSI for the Front and 38PSI in the rear. (Though this is using Bridgestone rubber, other tyre manufacturers have other recommendations)

If they don't feel too soft then maybe your tyre pressure gauge is at fault? Is it a digital one or one of the old pen ones, or even the one on the pump itself?

Hi

From the Haynes. 33psi front and 36psi rear with up to a 90kg load, over that (or high speed riding) 36psi front and 42psi rear.

Original Yamaha manual says 36/36 an 36/42 for the original FZR, and 32/36 and 36/42 for the later FZR.

The early FZR600 used a 3.5" rear rim, while the later model like yours and mine used a 4" rear rim.

All the best

Keith

Thans guys, and big thanks to keith, to the rescue as always!

In short my tyres must be low.... damn. I put a little more pepper in my squeeze on the tyre and I think they are soft. The reading was off a digital tyre gauge, the one on my compressor confirmed it. I've bumped them up some more and I think it feels better, only time will tell.

Just checked my tyre pressures on my Fazer and they are low too! Probably explains the 'wobble'!

Thanks Keith (for two weeks ago)
