Was I harsh?

Well riding into work I had two lads on scoots doing the usual revving the bollocks of at the lights and shooting off. Problem is they got up to 30 then just either crawled along or did the usual extreme lean angle turns between cars at every opportunity. This went on from Mitcham all the way to Stockwell. In that distance they did not signal once and only one lifesaver, well not really a lifesaver it was a turn of head to give some poor girl the finger because she had dared to hoot them for cutting her up. Two or three times I though one or the other was not going to make it into a gap while filtering.

Ok so they were being prats, no problem until they start falling behind me then overtaking each side. While I filtered up the outside of the traffic to the lights one or the other would try to squeeze in between me and either a car or the bollard.

I did say to one be a prat but do it somewhere else, very polite of course but it went on and on and on.

The harsh bit, well finally I filtered down the outside of some traffic giving it a bit of welly and could see on of the scoots hacking up behind. I knew he was going to try to squeeze between me and the bollard and I could have braked hard and given him the room but I didnt. He had managed to skid and wobble to a near stop before hitting the bollard and falling off. No he wasnt hurt just his pride I think although his friend needed a quick slap to stop the mouthing off.

Was i harsh? Should I have braked hard and let him in ?

Not harsh, hopefully it will have helped him learn to not be a twat on the roads rather than having to learn it a more painful and expensive way, he should be thanking you. Razz

Ive found its the newer ped riders that are prats more than the older ones.. Ive had my ped since March (still 16), and although its good the novelty has worn off and theres no point going around like a prat..

The people in the year below (im a sixth former) who have just got their peds think they're the greatest things in the word and want to go announce it to the world - Pity they have to do up and down my road at 9PM, bloody lawnmowers!
