Took my test today and passed first time with 5 minors in 3 categories. I wasn't intending on doing my DAS until the summer, but I wanted to do it before I picked up anymore bad habits.

The theory and hazard perception is pretty straight forward. The test is somewhat more difficult, but as long as you have good instructors, you should be fine. For those waiting to take the test, this was the format of mine:

1. Wait in the waiting room and lay your documents out neatly as not to peeve off the examiner
2. Sign the examination form and put on the communicator
3. Do the show-me, tell-me questions
4. Move off
5. Within 5 mins of the test, we had pulled up to push the bike, emergency stop, and u-turn. In my practice session, I had put my foot down twice, so I wasn't looking forward tot he u-turn. But as it goes, I did the best u-turn in test.
6. Just ride around, doing the left-right turns as directed by the examiner
7. Answer the pillion question

The test goes quick - seemed to last 15 mins. The examiners instructions are short and sweet, and very clear.

For those that are nervous, don't worry. Once you are on the bike, just concentrate on driving - forget about the examiner. It will help you relax. I even made a major mistake right towards the end of the test. An idiot in a merc pulled out, forced me to stop and stall. I panicked a little and totally forgot to do my lifesavers upon setting off. I did them as I speeded up, but thought that I'd failed and was cursing the merc driver as I genuinely thought I'd failed. Just goes to show you don't know whats going through the examiners mind.

Yup, you have to push the bike in a u-turn, and then get on the bike and do the u-turn.

Just the one u-turn then?

Sounds good.

To be honest, I'm not worrying about the bike test, I've got plenty of lessons beforehand and I can jump onto the sr125 and feel fine Very Happy

Its just the car test I have this tuesday, I know I'm gonna fail that Sad

The car test was a piece of piss. I passed first time with 5 minors, which aparently is very low in a car. Passed 2nd time round on the bike, with 3 minors, but I was bricking it more on the bike than in the car.
